PALM SUNDAY

Since I am the founder of H.A.T.H.A., a non-profit who advertises in their international publication, I was recently asked by Christian Yoga Magazine (CYM):

  1. What does Easter mean to you personally?

  2. How does the message of resurrection influence the way you run your business or ministry?

  3. What encouragement would you share with the CYM community this Easter?

Below is my unedited response which was a bit to long for their social post (found HERE) so I wanted to share the entirety of it with all y'all:

"Many years ago, while working at a local church, I was responsible for updating the marquee sign by the road each week, usually on Fridays.

In 2005, just eight days after Easter Sunday, I found myself called into my boss’s office before our usual Monday morning meeting. “Why does the sign still say, ‘HE IS RISEN’?” I was asked.

If you know me well, my response probably won’t surprise you: “Well, He is still, right?”

Yes, I should have changed the sign; it was my responsibility.

Yet my cheeky defense held some truth, didn’t it?

I say YES!

Believers, do we truly recognize this? The phrase “HE IS RISEN” ought to be as commonplace in our conversations as “Good Morning” or “How are you?”

We often overlook the necessity of celebrating the NEW LIFE that Jesus has given us with every single breath we take.

Interestingly, there’s a Greek word translated to “Resurrection” that appears only once in the New Testament (Matt 27:53). This unique word Matthew uses doesn’t simply indicate that something dead became alive; rather, it signifies a sense of rousing, excitation, and a rising up.” It embodies NEW LIFE.

And we should be excited about this, too!

This realization should inspire us to leap for joy every single day. Not merely because Jesus is out of the tomb, but because we are gifted with NEW LIFE.

Every hour.

Every day.

This is a truth we, as followers of Jesus, should proclaim boldly and joyfully.

In a world often focusing on challenges and hardships, proclaiming the message of resurrection daily offers solace and inspiration.

It’s a call to action for believers to voice our gratitude for the NEW LIFE bestowed upon us, encouraging others to experience the same.

At H.A.T.H.A., our team understands what a privilege it is to be called into His Kingdom and to engage in the vital work of supporting trauma-sensitive yoga teachers.

And there’s a ripple effect!

Our team of providers grasp the significance of this concept deeply and exemplify how NEW LIFE not only transforms personal heart, mind, and body but spreads across communities.

By aiding in the healing of others’ trauma, these teachers embody the very essence of what it means to bring forth NEW LIFE.

They help their clients—young and old—all across our country to find healing, ultimately bringing forth NEW LIFE through what we know as Healing At The Hands of Almighty.

In this way, we become instruments of the continued resurrection, making it a part of our daily life and mission.

Let’s remember to greet each day, not just with a simple “Good Morning,” but with exuberance for the reminder that indeed, “HE IS RISEN”—today, tomorrow, and always. The call to celebrate NEW LIFE is a powerful message not only for us, but for the hearts and minds of those around us, fostering a community that thrives on hope, healing, and joy.
